Hui, erstmal einen herzlichen Glückwunsch an Battlefield 2! Es ist kürzlich drei geworden, Zeit für einen kleinen Rückblick ? Die turbulente Anfangsphase wollen wir schnell vergessen, es gab viele Abstürze, Bugs und Probleme mit dem Rankingsystem (zum Teil noch heute). Mittlerweile heisst die aktuelle Version 1.41, Battlefield 2 ist stabil geworden und hat im Laufe der Zeit Maps spendiert bekommen: Wake Island 2007 und Highway Tampa. Battlefield 2 erfreut sich nach wie vor hoher Beliebtheit, in den Spielerzahlen übertrifft es selbst den Nachfolger Battlefield 2142. Offensichtlich plant man bei EA/Dice ein kleines Geburtstagsgeschenk in Form eines neuen Patches mit Betaphase, hier die vollständige News von der offiziellen Seite:

With over 15 million player accounts being created since release, Battlefield 2 is still going strong. On the forums we often see discussions about whether there will ever be another update for the game. Well, today we are happy to announce that we are working on an update for Battlefield 2. We are planning to provide an open beta in the near future and we hope you’ll give us your feedback before final release; so watch out for that.
